Accountant

Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant with expertise in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliation, Budgeting, Forecasting, and General Ledger (GL) Management.

The ideal candidate should have experience working in the gems, diamond, or jewellery industry, understanding its unique financial, compliance, and inventory challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR):
• Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately.
• Manage vendor and customer accounts, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
✅ Bank Reconciliation:
• Perform daily/monthly bank reconciliations.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and company records.
✅ Budgeting & Forecasting:
• Assist in preparing financial budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor variances and provide financial insights to management.
✅ General Ledger (GL) & Financial Reporting:
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with industry-specific accounting standards and tax regulations.
✅ Industry-Specific Accounting & Compliance:
• Track and manage inventory costing for gems, diamonds, and jewellery.
• Ensure compliance with GST, VAT, Import/Export Duties, and other industry regulations.
• Assist with audits and financial controls related to the jewellery sector.

Qualifications & Skills:

✔ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
✔ 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the jewellery, gems, or diamond industry.
✔ Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Tally, or ERP systems specific to jewellery) and MS Excel (Vlookup,Pivot Table etc).
✔ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
✔ Knowledge of inventory valuation methods (e.g., FIFO, weighted average, etc.) for precious stones & metals.
✔ Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
✔ Fluent in English and Hindi (mandatory )
