Accountant Required:

Responsibilities:

  • Reconciling the company’s bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers
  • Completing analysis of the employee expenditures
  • Managing income and expenditure accounts
  • Generating the company’s financial reports using income and expenditure data
  • Keeping a check on the company’s finances based on financial status
  • Filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligations
  • Initiating and managing financial and accounting software used by the company
  • Preparing accurate statutory accounts, tax computations and returns and VAT returns for a range of clients.
  • Contributing to the planning and completion of audit assignments alongside the audit manager.
  • Producing quarterly, monthly and annual management accounts for assigned clients.
  • Pinpointing and reconciling discrepancies through accounts analysis.
  • Handling day-to-day enquiries and questions from clients via email and phone.
  • Developing strong client relationships and traveling to client premises when required.
  • Supporting senior management in various financial projects as they arise.
  • Perform financial analysis and reporting to management as needed.
  • Perform month-end accounting activities such as reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Completing assigned accounting tasks within deadlines.
  • Evaluate computerized accounting systems and provide recommendations to IT team for performance improvements.
  • Generating financial reports and statements to Managers for review.
  • Analysing financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions.
  • Monitoring expenditures, analyse revenues and determine budget variances and report the same to management.
  • Responding to accounting inquiries from management in a timely fashion.
  • Providing guidance to other Accountants when needed.
  • Assisting in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts.
  • Assisting in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations.
  • Monitoring and record financial transactions according to company policies and regulations.
  • Reviewing and recommending changes to existing accounting procedures.

  • Permanent, full-time role based in Jebel Ali 1st, DMCC, Dubai

Candidate requirements:

Essential:

  • 5+ years’ experience obtained in a general accountancy practice in Dubai (Preferred to be experienced in Jewellery and Diamond business)
  • Experience of writing reports that explain complex technical issues in a way that less experienced accountants and clients can understand.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Owns professional and welcoming attitude
