Accounts Manager

Kanoo Shipping is the largest regional Ship Service provider in the Middle East, handling 20,000 port calls per annum. Our professional network of offices stretches from Suez, across Middle East, to Indian Sub-Continent, down to South Africa. The company serves cargo and ship owners, maritime infrastructure contractors, as well as entities in the sectors of oil & gas, dredging, and Military & Navy vessel calls and inland exercises. We are looking for an Accounts Manager to supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day activities.

Major Responsibilities:

• Responsible in managing and overseeing the daily operations for all aspects of accounting.
• Supervise and/or manage general ledger accounting functions.
• Manages the accounting staff who are responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation.
• Prepare, review, and analyse financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Prepare and review monthly P&L and BS with reconciliations
• Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
• Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at monthly reports.

Job Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

· Completed Articles would be beneficial (3 years)

· 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role

· Previous experience in the Ship Agency Industry would be preferred

· Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization

· Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.

· Knowledge of employee relationship building and performance management techniques

· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

· Previous SAP experience would be advantageous
