Accounts Payable Officer
The Senior Accounts Payable Officer will report directly to the chief accountant and collaborate with other departments to maintain strong vendor relationships. His/her responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:
Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice verification, approval workflows, and timely payment processing.
- Review and reconcile vendor statements, addressing discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.
- Collaborate with internal departments to obtain necessary approvals and documentation for payment processing.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and relevant regulations.
- Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, providing insights and recommendations for process improvements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, addressing inquiries and maintaining accurate contact information.
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes, providing necessary reports and documentation.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounts payable policies and procedures.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and changes in accounting regulations.
Qualifications
- Experience in UAE.
- Experience in the F&B sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Officer or similar role.
- Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
