Description:
You will join our local team in Dubai and work closely with Technical Sales colleagues in our GNT Middle East affiliate, to assist in developing solutions for the application of GNT’s EXBERRY® Coloring Food ingredients. Whilst our work can be in response to customer briefs, we are also looking for someone who can identify and create new business opportunities and assist in the lab setup and smooth running of the new application lab/kitchen in Dubai.
- Provide application support using our portfolio of Coloring Foods, evaluate product performance (taste and stability) over shelf life and troubleshoot technical issues in a wide range of food applications for the markets covered by GNT Middle East affiliate.
- Apply food processing knowledge and technical findings to develop proactively new concepts and product applications to grow meaningful business opportunities.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritise between a variety of business initiatives within tight deadlines.
- Enter and maintain accurate records of work, including project status, formulations, process instructions, evaluations, as well as supporting documentation such as technical data sheets.
- Keep up to date on new ingredients, formulation, new technologies to provide our customers with cutting edge solutions.
- Keep up to date with latest food trends, natural colors market evolution and industry challenges in beverages and other food applications.
- Attend relevant conferences and identify resources (internal and external) to enhance capabilities and continuously improve technical knowledge.
- Communicate to cross-functional teams with a high degree of autonomy.
- Interact at group level to support colleagues, share technical knowledge, and strengthen GNT knowhow.
- The position will require travel within the region and to other GNT affiliates.
About You, As Our Ideal Candidate
- Degree or higher education qualification in food science, food technology or dairy technology.
- At least 2-5 year’s experience in the food industry, preferably in the sweet sector (beverage, confectionery, dairy). Industrial experience will be an added advantage.
- Excellent technical skills and broad understanding of food and drink categories across the Middle East and Indian markets (non-alcoholic drinks, alcoholic drinks, confectionery, dairy, bakery, savoury)
- Knowledge of food ingredients, formulation and interaction, specifically within food colors / flavors would be an advantage.
- Broad awareness of food and beverage industry processes across the categories highlighted.
- Demonstrating good project management and time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, plan, and deliver projects on time to a high standard
- Proven ability to assimilate technical information and to document projects with attention to details and present results with commercial relevance.
- Capable of working on specific customer briefs and on pro-active projects where we expect involvement in the design of such brief to develop new business opportunities in line with market trends
- Self-motivated with very good interpersonal and communication skills, Fluent in English, knowledge of other local language will be an advantage
- Ability to operate lab equipment (bench top and pilot) and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
