Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Buyer with a strong background in international procurement, particularly in the UAE, China, Africa, and other regions outside the UAE. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the automotive industry, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- International Procurement: Source, select, and negotiate with automotive suppliers in the UAE, China, Africa, and other specified regions to ensure the procurement of high-quality products at competitive prices.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring effective communication, and resolving any issues that may arise during the procurement process.
- Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and new products within the automotive industry, providing insights and recommendations to enhance the organization’s competitive position.
- Order Management: Efficiently manage the end-to-end order process, from placing orders with suppliers to overseeing shipping and delivery logistics, ensuring on-time and accurate fulfillment.
- Cost Negotiation: Negotiate favorable terms, including pricing, payment terms, and shipping costs, to optimize the overall cost of goods and improve the organization’s profitability.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with suppliers to establish and maintain quality standards, conducting regular quality checks to ensure products meet specified requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, including geopolitical, economic, and logistical factors that may impact the timely and cost-effective procurement of automotive products.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Automotive Buyer, with a focus on international procurement.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
- Knowledge of the automotive industry, including market trends and product specifications.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with procurement software and tools.
- Willingness to travel if needed.
