Cable Jointer

 

Description:

The Cable Jointer is responsible for installing, terminating, and testing electrical cables, ensuring safety and efficiency in electrical systems.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Perform jointing and termination for cables up to 33kV (HV and LV).

- Test and troubleshoot cable connections for reliability and safety.

- Interpret drawings and specifications for electrical systems.

- Comply with safety procedures in handling and installing cables.

- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.

- Work with various cable joints (e.g., Heat Shrinkable, Cold Shrinkable, Plug-in Type, Transmission Joint, Cold Shrinkable & Hybrid ).

 

Mandatory Knowledge and Skills:

- Cable jointing techniques and tools.

- Electrical standards and safety regulations.

- Interpret technical documents and blueprints.

 

Required Skills:

- Manual dexterity and attention to detail.

- Problem-solving skills.

- Communication skills and teamwork.

- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking) is mandatory, Arabic (advantageous).

 

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

- Gulf country experience and local standards familiarity.

- Approval or certification from ADDC, ADWEA, DEWA, FEWA, AADC (preferable).

 

Education and Certifications:

- High School Diploma or Higher Secondary.

- Technical training in electrical engineering (preferred).

- Electrical safety and cable jointing certification (desirable).

 

Experience:

- Proven experience as a Cable Jointer in a similar industry (preferred).
