Your Responsibilities:

As a Registered Nurse, Cathlab, your typical day may include the following:

 Perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation process in care of patients with

coronary angiogram (CAG), percutaneous coronary angioplasty (PTCA), percutaneous transvenous

mitral commissurotomy (PTMC), temporary pacemaker implant (TPI), automatic implantable

cardioverter – defibrillator (AICD), cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT), and intra-aortic balloon

pumping (IABP).

 Skillful in basic & advance procedures such as cardio pulmonary resuscitation, assisting in diagnostic

& interventional procedures, circulating & scrubbing during cardiac catheterization &

electrophysiology procedures, preparing patients for procedure and administering medication preop, intra-op & post-operatively, examining the patient pre and post cardiac catheterization, Arterial

Blood Gas Analysis (ABG) & Activating Clotting Time (ACT) sampling analysis, interpretation of basic

ECG rhythms & arrhythmias, assessing the lab values especially the creatine value.

 Provide education to the patients about the post cardiac procedure care.
