Chief Engineer

 

Description:

The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of all restaurant facilities and equipment. This role ensures a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment, supporting restaurant operations and regulatory compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

· Supervise and manage all maintenance and repair activities within the restaurant.

· Follow up AMC and regular check-ups for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and kitchen equipment.

· Follow up on Grease traps cleaning, pest/disinfection control, fire safety.

· Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime.

· Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

· Coordinate with external contractors and service providers when necessary.

· Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records.

· Monitor and manage energy efficiency programs to optimize operational costs.

· Train and supervise maintenance staff, ensuring following of company standards – follow up on check lists.

· Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly.

Qualifications & Requirements:

· Proven experience as a Chief Engineer, Facilities Manager, or similar role in the hospitality industry.

· Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.

· Familiarity with local building codes and safety regulations.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.

· Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills.

· Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

· Degree or certification in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred.
