Chief Learning Officer

 

Description:


Oversees comprehensive learning and development programs that enhance the skills and competencies of educators and educational leaders. This role involves identification of training and knowledge needs; oversight on the development of curricula, modules, and other forms of content; and facilitation of courses, programs, workshops, seminars, technical assistance, and other forms of knowledge transfer.

Additionally, the Chief Learning Officer is responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of professional development initiatives, leveraging feedback and data to continuously improve program offerings. By fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth, the Chief Learning Officer plays a key role in supporting the academy's mission of excellence in education and professional development.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
 

  • Develop and implement comprehensive professional development programs to enhance the skills and competencies of Early Childhood, K-12 teachers, leaders, and related vocations in education.
  • Collaborate with the Dean of Education and oversee Professional Development Trainers to identify training needs and develop relevant curricula.
  • Design and facilitate workshops, seminars, and training sessions to address identified development areas.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of professional development initiatives through feedback, surveys, and data analysis.
  • Continuously improve and update program offerings based on evaluation results and emerging needs.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and innovations in professional development.
  • Provide individual coaching and mentoring to support professional growth and advancement.
  • Manage the budget for professional development activities, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth within the academy community.
  • Serve as a resource and advocate for professional development opportunities, promoting a commitment to lifelong learning.
  • Identify current and future training needs nationally and develop programs and initiatives to address these needs.
  • Lead a high-performing team of learning and development professionals.
     

Qualifications And Experience
 

  • Master's degree or higher in education, organizational development, human resources, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in designing and implementing professional development programs, preferably in an educational or academic setting.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in needs assessment, curriculum development, and program evaluation.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in professional development.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including faculty, staff, administrators, and external partners.
  • Familiarity with budget management and resource allocation processes.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in professional development initiatives.
  • Data-driven approach to measuring training effectiveness.
