Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Civil Project Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, planning, designing, and overseeing civil engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Civil Project Engineer will work closely with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure the successful execution of construction projects, including roads, bridges, water systems, and other infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Design:
- Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Prepare and review engineering designs, blueprints, and drawings for civil infrastructure projects.
- Conduct site assessments and provide input for initial project design and feasibility studies.
- Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of construction projects to ensure they align with scope, schedule, and cost targets.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to maintain the project schedule and resolve any issues.
- Manage procurement of materials and equipment necessary for the project.
- Perform cost estimation and monitor project budgets to minimize cost overruns.
- Site Supervision & Quality Control:
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure construction activities adhere to engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Ensure construction work is carried out safely, meeting all safety regulations and industry standards.
- Provide on-site technical support to contractors and construction teams.
- Monitor construction progress and report regularly to stakeholders.
- Problem Solving & Technical Support:
- Identify potential project issues or risks and develop solutions to keep projects on track.
- Resolve technical problems by providing engineering guidance and implementing solutions.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and quality assessments.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and team members throughout the project lifecycle.
- Attend and participate in project meetings, presenting technical details and updates to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on construction project management and design.
- Licensing: Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, or the ability to obtain it in the near future.
- Technical Skills:Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.).
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, materials, and methods.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
