Description:
The role is responsible and accountable for all Crewing matters of all vessels in the fleet.
The role reports directly to the Head – Group Crewing in the following duties:
· All crewing functions and operations duties to ensure Company maintains adequate and qualified staffing levels at all times for the fleet of vessels in operation and new buildings in the shipyards.
· Be responsible in the recruitment of crew, opening and closing of Articles of Agreement, crew-wages, crew-allotments and other crew matters
· Verification and monitoring of crew certificates, for DP vessels in line with nautical institute training scheme.
· Being the MLC representative in the ME office
· Ensure that proper recruitment and repatriation of crew is done in a cost effective and timely manner.
· Monitor and ensure that all crew payrolls are done in an accurate and timely manner.
· Monitor crew appraisals and propose to the Head – Group Crewing for those due for promotions
· Ensure staffs are in line with company crewing policy and procedure.
· Propose to Head, Group Crewing to establish agency contracts with new Manning Agents.
· Liaise with agents, manning agents and various embassies on crew visa issuance and immigration clearance.
· Ensure good rotation planning for sea staff and ensure there is always continuity for good operation purposes.
· Administering sea staff training and medicals, ensuring valid and relevant qualifications are maintained.
· Assist Head, BU in preparation of budgets and monitoring of expenses, includes verifying of invoices for the crewing department and be accountable for it.
Role Requirements:
· Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Crewing related field with at least 5 years leadership experience in a Executive/ Managerial role
· Strong understanding of the Middle East region and operations
· Detailed understanding and knowledge of applicable rules and regulations, conventions and law applicable to the industry, area of operations and vessels
· Good organizing skills and attention to details
· Excellent people and presentation skills with an proactive and positive attitude
· Good communication and interpersonal skills
