Business Insights Data Modeler.

Hiring a skilled Dimensional Data Modeler to join our Business Insights (BI) team. This role is instrumental in designing and implementing high-quality dimensional data models, enhance data accessibility, and drive business insights. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in dimensional modeling, data warehousing, and an understanding of the unique needs of BI reporting and analytics for mainly continuous manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Modeling and Architecture

o Design and implement dimensional data models that support analytical and reporting requirements which are part of our roadmap

o Develop and maintain logical and physical data models in line with best practices and BI needs

o Collaborate with IT/OT teams as well as Data Engineers to ensure optimal data design and performance

• Collaboration with Business Stakeholders

o Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into effective data structures

o Ensure data models support the accuracy, consistency, and performance required by BI applications

• Data Engineering Support

o Collaborate with Data Engineering team to integrate data from multiple sources into the data warehouse where required

o Ensure that data is cleansed, transformed, and loaded into dimensional models for efficient use in BI reports and dashboards.

• Optimization and Quality Assurance

o Perform regular data model tuning and optimization to enhance data processing and query performance

o Establish and enforce standards for data modeling, including naming conventions, and ensure model integrity.

•Documentation and Support

o Maintain detailed documentation of data models, definitions, and data flows.

o Provide guidance and support to BI developers and analysts on data structure and model usage

Qualifications & Skills

•Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field

•Experience: 2-5 years of experience in data modeling, with a strong focus on dimensional modeling for BI

Technical Skills:

o Proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, PowerDesigner, or similar)

o Strong SQL skills and experience with data warehousing technologies

o Familiarity with BI tools especially PowerBI

o Familiarity with Azure Data Stack like ADLS, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks

o Familiarity with ERP processes and data, especially SAP stack

o Familiarity with OT Data Historians, like Iba, and OT Systems

o Familiarity with SAP BW or SAP Datasphere

o Knowledge of ETL processes and tools, as well as data integration concepts

o Familiarity with Agile Methodologies

o Familiarity with Atlassian Suite of solutions like JIRA and Confluence

o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

o Excellent communication skills to work with both technical and business stakeholders
