Description:
The Dealer Business Performance Manager at General Motors (GM) is responsible for managing and improving the business performance of GM’s dealer network. This role involves overseeing the Dealer Operating Report (DOR), monitoring dealer performance in sales and service, guiding the development and execution of annual dealer business plans, and managing the Annual Dealer Performance Evaluation (ADPE).
What You'll Do:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following areas:
- Dealer Operating Report (DOR) Management:
- Act as the GM system owner for the Dealer Operating Report (DOR).
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of dealer data and composites on a monthly basis.
- Oversee the production of monthly financial and performance reports derived from DOR data.
- Dealer Performance Monitoring:
- Analyze dealer performance metrics in sales and service.
- Identify trends, opportunities, and areas of improvement within the dealer network.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to enhance dealer performance.
- Develop and maintain performance dashboards and reports for internal stakeholders.
- Annual Dealer Performance Evaluation (ADPE):
- Manage and roll out ADPE for the GM network annually.
- Track and analyze ADPE Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the dealer network on a monthly basis.
- Report performance highlights and identify low performing dealers to management.
- Issue critical care letters to dealers who fall below critical care thresholds defined in ADPE and manage the process as per the schedule of DSSA.
- Performance Improvement Initiatives:
- Develop and implement strategies with the help of Sales & Aftersales Field teams to improve dealer performance in key areas.
- Work with Field Teams on underperforming dealers to identify issues and develop corrective action plans.
- Share best practices and success stories across the dealer network to drive overall performance.
- Conduct profitability workshops with dealers wherever required to enhance financial performance.
- Training and Development:
- Develop and deliver training programs on operating reports for GM field staff and other regional office staff.
- Ensure training materials are up-to-date and aligned with current business practices and system functionalities.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to staff to ensure effective use of the DOR system and output reports.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as the main point of contact for dealer performance inquiries.
- Facilitate communication between GM, dealers, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Regularly report on dealer performance to senior management and other internal teams.

Your Skills & Abilities:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business performance management, financial analysis, or related roles within the automotive industry.
- Proven track record in managing complex data systems and producing detailed financial reports.
