Description:
Milestones is seeking dedicated and passionate tutors for a client in Dubai. We are looking for professionals who can tutor in any of these subjects: English, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Science. The successful candidate will manage tutors, design and implement personalised learning plans, and work closely with students and families to ensure academic success.
The candidate must have a deep understanding of the Dubai education system and international curricula with at least 5 years’ experience studying and/or working within it. In addition to offering expert guidance and conducting assessments, this role involves overseeing student progress, providing feedback, and ensuring each student excels in their academic journey.
This role also requires working alongside top educators, psychologists, therapists, and performance coaches to apply the Milestones Method, which integrates neurocognitive strategies to enhance learning outcomes in the humanities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Relations:
- Build strong relationships with students and parents, providing personalised advice and support throughout the academic journey
- Conduct initial assessments (in-person or online) for students, covering areas such as English, History, Geography, and other humanities subjects, identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
- Advise families on GCSEs, A-Levels, and IB humanities programmes, ensuring students are well-prepared for their exams and university applications.
- Programme Management:
- Manage and train a team of tutors to deliver personalised English and humanities programmes aligned with the National Curriculum, GCSE, A-Level, and IB standards.
- Oversee the scheduling and execution of tuition sessions, ensuring alignment with each student's specific academic goals and learning needs.
- Conduct monthly reviews of student performance, provide detailed feedback, and adjust learning plans and strategies to optimise progress.
- Contribute content to social media channels, promoting excellence in English and the humanities and engaging with the Milestones community.
- Educational Leadership:
- Provide expert tutoring and mentoring in English Language, Literature, and Humanities subjects, fostering critical thinking, creativity, and in-depth understanding.
- Organise and lead workshops, events, and discussions that enhance student learning and engagement in English and humanities disciplines.
- Help students prepare for competitive exams, university interviews, and essay-based assessments, offering detailed guidance on study techniques, analysis, and academic writing.
- Community Engagement:
- Organise and lead events, workshops, and community discussions related to humanities, helping students and parents stay informed and engaged in key topics.
- Build and maintain a social and community network for students and parents, sharing updates, strategies, and educational tips for excelling in English and humanities subjects.
Qualifications
Minimum level of education:
- For Maths Specialists: A-Levels or similar in Maths. Undergraduate degree in Science/ Maths/Finance related subjects preferred.
- For Sciences Specialists: A-Levels or similar in that Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, etc). Undergraduate degree in Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, etc)/related subjects preferred.
- For English Specialists: A-Levels or similar in that English. Undergraduate degree in English/related subjects preferred.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Deliver in-person teaching sessions and supervision within our accelerated skill development programmes to students in Dubai
- Track independent activity in between sessions, and complete any reviews/marking that this may entail.
- Deliver reports and performance reviews
- Identify what is not optimised in the learner’s experience and address it
- Track learner focus points and address these
- Develop close non-hierarchical relationships with the student and their family
- May include creating own workshops in academic and non-academic areas of your interest
- Creating content and strategies that can help our community
- Attend ongoing training
- Liaise with management team
- Stay active within team- share reflections and contributions with other specialists
