We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced Case Manager to join J.S. Held’s Global Investigations, Disputes practice in Dubai. We are open to supporting relocation for an exceptional candidate. In this role, the successful candidate will be required to work on and manage a number of investigative assignments across multiple jurisdictions.

The ideal candidate will be someone with at least 4+ years’ experience in dispute- related investigations and/or be a para-legal or recently qualified lawyer with an interest in pursuing a career in investigations. Ideal candidates will have demonstrable experience in managing asset tracing, evidence gathering and other litigation support assignments.

They will be a self-starter who takes ownership in their approach to work, a seasoned researcher with excellent writing skills, and a good communicator. They will also have experience working in a commercial environment; familiar with business, legal and financial terminology and comfortable with presenting findings to clients at all levels.

The successful candidate will report to the Managing Director leading the Regional Disputes practice, and will mentor and support junior Analysts in their research and development.

This role requires flexibility as the successful candidate will on occasion be required to travel and work outside normal working hours, including weekends and public holidays, as the requirements of projects may dictate.

Specific Responsibilities Will Include

  • Drafting of proposals, and their presentation and discussion with potential clients;
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Case management and case administration:
  • The preparation and implementation of the investigative and reporting plan;
  • Supervision of and active participation as necessary in the implementation and execution of the investigative plan;
  • The briefing and subsequent supervision of analysts assigned to the case;
  • The identification, briefing and management of external resources retained for the case;
  • The maintenance of case deadlines, and verbal and/or written reporting to the Client;
  • Oversight of desk-based research, drawing upon the range of search engines and databases generally available, and those available to the company under licence or other authority;
  • Other proactive research and enquires as required, including interviews conducted by telephone and face-to-face;
  • The provision of updates to the Overseeing Director for the duration of the case and to alert him/her immediately to any matters of importance that arise;
  • The editing of interim and final reports, and their presentation to the Client;
  • Development and maintenance of a source network in relevant jurisdictions;
  • Contribution to the identification and development of investigative research resources.

 

Essential Requirements

 

  • Native or near-native English speaker;
  • Minimum 2:1 degree;
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills;
  • Significant experience in the dispute sector (litigation support, asset recovery investigations fraud investigations etc);
  • Strong understanding of relevant legal tools and how investigative litigation support complements and enhances the legal process and strategy;
  • Experience in managing complex, multi-jurisdiction cases;
  • Experience in reporting directly to clients;
  • Knowledge of research databases;
  • Ability to handle and manage a number of different time sensitive matters simultaneously;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint and Excel);
  • At least four years’ experience in the business intelligence sector.
