Our client is from a large construction company is currently looking for a Geotechnical Design Engineer with experience in Ground Improvement. He should have experience in the design of various ground improvement techniques such as vibro-compaction, stone columns, dynamic compaction, grouting, and rigid inclusions. The role involves working on a wide range of geotechnical projects and providing innovative design solutions to enhance ground stability and support various construction requirements.
In this role, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Design and develop ground improvement systems such as vibro-compaction, stone columns, dynamic compaction, grouting, soil mixing, and other ground improvement techniques.
- Conduct detailed geotechnical analyses, including but not limited to site investigation data review and foundations assessment.
- Prepare design calculations, drawings, and specifications for ground improvement projects.
- Collaborate with geotechnical engineers and project managers to integrate ground improvement solutions into overall project designs.
- Oversee site testing and performance evaluations for ground improvement measures.
- Provide technical support to the delivery team during the construction stage, oversee submittal and on-site troubleshooting.
- Ensure design compliance with relevant codes, standards and industry best practices.
- Monitor and report project progress, identifying risks and propose solutions as required.
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate should meet the following criteria:
- Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering from a reputable university.
- 5+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering and ground improvement design.
- In-depth knowledge of ground improvement techniques and soil mechanics.
- Proficiency in geotechnical design software such as Foxta and Geologismiki.
- Expert knowledge of Excel is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics and ground improvement schemes.
- Experience with site investigations and in-situ testing methods.
- Familiarity with construction processes and quality control practices for ground improvement works.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to design challenges.
