As a Fraud Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in preventing, detecting, and managing fraud and financial crimes within the telecom industry. In this hands-on role, you will leverage your expertise to identify fraudulent activities, investigate suspicious behavior, and collaborate across teams to ensure the integrity and security of the business. You will be instrumental in protecting the company's operations and reputation in a rapidly evolving fraud landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Fraud Detection & Investigation: Lead the identification and investigation of potential fraudulent activities using a combination of advanced fraud detection tools and manual review processes. Leverage your knowledge of emerging fraud schemes to proactively mitigate risks.
- Financial Crime Investigations: Conduct in-depth investigations into a range of financial crimes including money laundering, identity theft, and cybercrime. You will gather evidence, interview involved parties, and liaise with law enforcement as needed to ensure thorough case resolution.
- Data Analysis & Pattern Recognition: Analyze large datasets of transactional information to identify anomalies and trends indicative of fraud or financial crime. Utilize predictive analytics and forensic tools to uncover hidden patterns and uncover illicit activities.
- Collaboration Across Teams: Work closely with Compliance, Risk Management, and Legal teams to coordinate fraud cases and provide solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Regulatory Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Stay ahead of industry regulations and emerging fraud threats, particularly in the areas of AML (Anti-Money Laundering), KYC (Know Your Customer), and financial crime prevention. Ensure all fraud-related processes are compliant with local and international regulations.
- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare comprehensive reports on investigations, trends, and fraud mitigation strategies. Document findings and make recommendations to improve fraud detection systems and protocols.
Must-Have Requirements
- E-Wallet Systems Expertise: Experience working with e-wallet systems and digital payments is essential. Familiarity with emerging fintech solutions and e-commerce fraud is a significant advantage.
- Financial Crime & Fraud Prevention: A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in fraud detection, financial crime investigation, or a similar role, ideally within the telecom, fintech, or financial services industry.
- AML Training & Certification: Completion of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) certification is required. Additional knowledge of KYC, fraud risk assessments, and sanctions screening will be a strong advantage.
- Industry Expertise: Solid understanding of financial services regulations, fraud detection methodologies, financial crime prevention, and risk management.
- Investigative Skills: Proven ability to conduct independent fraud investigations and apply forensic analysis to identify fraudulent activity.
- Analytical & Detail-Oriented: Strong analytical skills with the ability to scrutinize complex data sets and identify red flags. A keen eye for detail and proactive problem-solving is a must.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to report findings clearly, explain complex issues, and collaborate with diverse teams across the organization.
