Freight Forwarding Sales Representative

 

Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Freight Forwarding Sales Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales within the freight forwarding industry, with at least three years of relevant experience. The primary responsibility of this role is to drive sales growth by acquiring new clients and expanding business with existing clients.

Sales generation
• Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and increase market share.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and lead generation.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients to understand their logistics needs and provide tailored solutions.
Client Management
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and service requirements in a timely and professional manner.
• Conduct regular business reviews with clients to assess satisfaction levels, identify areas for improvement, and explore opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
Proposal Development
• Prepare and present compelling proposals and quotations to prospective clients, outlining the benefits and value proposition of our freight forwarding services.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including operations and pricing, to develop competitive pricing strategies that align with client needs and market trends.
Marketing intelligence
• Stay up-to-date of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
• Analyze sales data and performance metrics to evaluate sales effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
Compliance and Documentation
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies governing freight forwarding activities.
• Assist clients with the preparation and processing of shipping documentation, including customs clearance and import/export documentation.
Qualification and skills
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of sales experience in the freight forwarding industry, with a demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets.
• Strong knowledge of international freight forwarding processes, including air, ocean, and land transportation modes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in sales and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events.
