Gis Support Engineer

Description:

Experience with Enterprise GIS, ESRI, Geocortex, FME, Data management, GIS Integration with IT systems.

The person should have more focus and experience towards large GIS platform support and less on development.

• Create/troubleshoot GIS Portal content and web services (VertiGIS, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS REST API, ArcGIS Javascript API, etc.).
• Develop web applications, dashboards, and tools to fulfill business requirements.
• Automate tasks using ETL tools and Python, javascript and shell scripts.
• Create SQL and PL SQL scripts to automate database tasks with triggers, constraints, data loading, and update activities.
• Develop AI/ML and Data science workflows using ArcGIS Data science capabilities, cloud services, and other open-source libraries
• Develop and maintain mapping applications and dashboards using Google maps and other APIs.
• Assist and follow up on the implementation of GIS-related systems and applications, procedures, policies, and guidelines.

· Identify and actively seek ways to exploit GIS to address complex business and organizational problems.

• Defines and analyzes user requirements, performs problem analysis, and evaluates alternate solutions that best meet the requirements.
• Develop test cases and execute them along with stakeholders.
• Participates in performing Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) of application development life cycles to ensure compliance with standards.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field from a recognized university

· Excellent knowledge of ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS REST API, ArcGIS Javascript API, ArcGIS python API, ArcSDE/Oracle, FME server, Geocortex, AutoCAD and Microstation

· Programming knowledge in Python, Swift, Kotlin, Java, C#, Javascript, HTML 5

· Familiar with web technologies such as Django, Dojo, Node.js, Angular, React, Bootstrap, jQuery, etc.

· Knowledge of cartography principles and mapping conventions

· Knowledge of Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry, and GPS

· Advanced knowledge of GIS standards.

· Advanced knowledge of map projections, coordinate systems and datum.

· Extensive knowledge in GeoJSON, JSON, XML, REST & SOAP-based web services.

· Familiar with FME workflows and task automation.
