Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced High School English Teacher to join our team at an American curriculum school in the United Arab Emirates, Sharjah. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching, skilled in creating engaging lesson plans, and committed to helping students achieve their academic potential. The teacher will be responsible for instructing students in grades 9-12, following the American curriculum, and preparing students for college-level English.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in literature, grammar, writing, and reading comprehension.
Develop and implement instructional strategies that promote critical thinking, creativity, and student engagement.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Assess student progress through various assessment methods, providing constructive feedback.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the English department’s curriculum and teaching practices.
Maintain effective communication with parents and school administration about student performance and progress.
Participate in school-wide activities, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.
Teaching certification or equivalent qualifications to teach high school English.
Minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience, preferably in an American curriculum school.
Strong understanding of the American curriculum and college preparatory standards.
Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
Ability to engage students with diverse learning needs.
Experience with technology integration in the classroom is a plus.
