Description:
The ideal candidate will have excellent creative thinking skills and be able to create designs based on conversations with clients. The candidate should be confident communicating regularly with the client to assess their needs and adjust a given approach based on feedback. The candidate should maintain familiarity with the interior design landscape and trends to provide the best ideas for clients.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: 7+ years in interior design and fit-out projects.
- Software Proficiency: Expertise in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software.
- Skills: Strong space planning, material selection, and project management capabilities.
- Coordination: Ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and fit-out processes.
Responsibilities:
- Collaboration: Work with interior designers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure design concepts are executed accurately during the construction phase.
- On-Site Inspections: Conduct regular inspections to monitor progress, quality of work, and compliance with design specifications and building codes.
- Material Selection: Assist in selecting materials, finishes, and furnishings that align with the design concept, budget, and project timeline.
- Problem Solving: Identify and address design-related challenges that may arise during construction, providing solutions that maintain the project's design intent.
- Record Keeping: Prepare and maintain accurate records, including site reports, progress photos, and quality control documentation.
- Client Liaison: Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updates on construction progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Detail Coordination: Work closely with contractors to clarify design details, resolve discrepancies, and ensure construction aligns with design plans and approved shop drawings.
- Cross-Department Interaction: Collaborate with the Marketing and Sales Departments.
- Team Leadership: Lead a group of architects and a rendering team.
- Construction Solutions: Develop construction solutions based on confirmed concept design rendering.
Standards Compliance: Provide the team with current local standards and confirm any changes with authorities regarding luxury interior details.
- Brand Development: Develop standard solutions and brand books based on the confirmed project concept.
- Drawing Confirmation: Confirm drawings and brand books with the client and representatives.
- Shop Drawing Verification: Verify and sign shop drawings before handing them to the construction site.
- Procurement Interaction: Engage with the Procurement Department and suppliers to issue quantities for budget development.
- Tender Participation: Participate in tenders for interior finishes with the procurement team, ensuring confirmation of mock-ups.
- Mood Board Development: Create and confirm mood boards with the client and brand representatives.
- Presentation Development: Develop presentations per departmental requests.
- Custom-Made Furniture: Interact with furniture factories to develop and confirm technical drawings for custom-made items (e.g., kitchens, wardrobes, storage, drawers).
- Site Supervision: Oversee the execution team on the construction site, ensuring compliance with interior architecture standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
- Experience: At least 7 years in interior design with realized projects. Minimum 5 years in architecture/design supervision of the construction process.
- Shop Drawings: At least 10 years of experience in shop drawing development.
- Project Diversity: Experience with various public and residential spaces (offices, apartments, clinics, business centers), preferably in the luxury segment.
- Team Leadership: Minimum 2-3 years of experience leading a group of architects.
- Material Knowledge: Knowledge of various finishing materials, their characteristics, and usage in construction.
- Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with local and international standards and procedures for preparing corporate documents.
- Communication Skills: Strong business correspondence and negotiation skills.
- Stress Management: Ability to work with large amounts of information, manage multiple tasks, and remain resilient under pressure.
- Software Proficiency: MS Office, AutoCAD, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Revit (advantage).
- Multilingual: Proficiency in English and Arabic.
