Land Surveyor

 

Description:

Prime Group is looking for Land Surveyor to join our team in DXB, UAE.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Advise the Resident Engineer and recommend actions concerning construction surveys.
  • Maintain the construction surveys and quantity records as per the Resident Engineer’s instructions.
  • Perform the initial baseline and control surveys including establishing benchmarks and recovering any existing survey monuments to be removed at the start of the project as directed by the RE.
  • Attend the Contractor’s request for surveys, including checking the Contractor’s setting out of centerlines, structures, and slope stakes.
  • Check the field measurement surveys including original and final cross sections, check critical elevations, dimensions, and locations of structural elements, earthwork grading, pavement, and appurtenances, check the Contractor’s detailed survey in advance of construction operations, and investigate and clarify survey discrepancies.
  • Participate in the format and standard procedures for the calculation and documentation of quantities.
  • Involvement in the calibration and checking of the survey instruments.
  • Involvement in the as-built review and finalization in coordination with RE, land surveyors, and inspectors.  
  • Perform land/field surveys and geodetic calculations.
  • Interface with clients and contractors to determine and verify project survey requirements.
  • Complete the surveying requirements on schedule and within man-hour and cost budgets.
  • Check setting out and levels. Check service locations and ensure their protection.
  • Prepare sketches to support the fieldwork. Maintain all the survey information (field books, sketches, and calculations).
  • Measure work done when required.

What Required Skills you’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with related work experience in landscape projects. Minimum of 2 years of experience in projects based in UAE.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in using CAD software and survey software, total station, data collectors, and GPS equipment.
  • Must possess the ability to read working drawings and related specifications, and be capable of enforcing such specifications.
  • Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc., and any project-specific engineering and construction-relevant software.
  • Good written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with project personnel and management.
  • Must be available in UAE.
