Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented legal professional to join our team as a Legal Associate with a focus on Intellectual Property (IP), Contracts, Corporate-Commercial and Data Privacy. The role would entail the responsibility of ensuring IP protection and business compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and supporting commercial transactions of our clients.
Responsibilities
Contract Review & Drafting:
- Review a wide range of contracts, including employment contracts, supply and distribution agreements, non-disclosure agreements, license agreements, service agreements, and vendor contracts.
- Draft clear, concise, and legally sound contracts that align with the client’s business objectives and mitigate risks.
- Stay up-to-date on amendments in contract law and best practices.
IP Enforcement:
- Coordinate with and support the investigation teams for potential IP infringement, including trademark, copyright, and patent infringement.
- Work with investigators and law enforcement agencies on IP enforcement actions, including raids and seizures.
- Prepare detailed raid reports and other documentation related to IP enforcement actions.
- Stay informed of developments in IP law and enforcement strategies in the MENA & Asian regions.
Corporate Commercial Work:
- Provide legal advice and support on a variety of corporate commercial matters, such as company incorporation in the Middle East countries and Free Zone Areas.
- Conduct due diligence reviews and prepare legal documentation for commercial transactions.
- Work closely with other business units to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks.
Data Privacy & Protection:
- Advise the company on compliance with data privacy laws and regulations, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act, and other Asian & MENA regions.
- Develop and implement data privacy policies and procedures, and documentation as per compliance requisites and best practices.
- Manage data subject access requests and respond to data breaches.
- Stay informed of developments in data privacy law and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from a recognized law school.
- Enrolment with a recognized Bar Council of at least national territory.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a legal role with a focus on IP, contracts, and data privacy.
- Strong understanding of IP law, contract law, and data privacy law.
- Strong work and time management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
