The MEA marketing manager is responsible for enabling and delivering sustained and profitable business growth through the Valvoline brand equity acceleration and differentiated business platforms and programs development and in-market execution. Key responsibilities include KSA integration with VGO MEA and global brand strategy, advertising, consumer and customer segmentation, media, digital development, product management, training strategy, platform development, trade and channel marketing, while collaborating with a diverse KSA/MEA marketing team.

What you'll be doing...
 

  • Marketing Strategy: Support the development and lead execution of insight based and quantitative-derived strategy for KSA, and support with market entry and growth strategy for priority markets (Egypt) in alignment to the long-term strategic growth for the region and the company in line with VGO Global Strategy.
  • Brand Building and Positioning: Lead the implementation of brand building and development efforts across KSA and select MEA region within priority countries, towards a steep and sustained brand awareness growth in key markets encompassed by a strong brand identity and architecture.
  • Product Portfolio Management: Support in driving recommendations for product line offering (through local or international sourcing), sourcing and pricing in line with market requirements and supply capabilities, while driving revenue and margin growth potential. Drive execution of NSD processes, product artwork and label development for KSA and select MEA priority markets.
  • Platform Development: Deliver strategy and selling proposition for targeted customer segments including differentiated solutions to boost customer experience, through a profitable business partnership with the channel.
  • Team and Organizational Capabilities: Support the development of a high-performing, talented and diverse marketing team in KSA, while driving improvement across the marketing organization processes, knowledge and capabilities in order to deliver effectively from the strategy/initiative conception to execution.
  • Trade Marketing: Development of market-driven programs/initiatives and full in-market execution throughout the region. Develop and ensure effective execution of solid brand guidelines, promotional toolkits, influencer initiatives, mechanic/fleet training and channel incentives through a well-trained and capable distributor network across the different business segments.
  • Digital and media marketing: Enhance Valvoline digital and media capabilities in order to drive efficient, factual-based advertising budget execution, ultimately boosting brand awareness among target segments, while maximizing our working vs non-working spend.
  • Annual marketing planning: Making sure to have the right plans in place fully aligned to the business goals and strategy, in a timely fashion while collaborating with the sales teams on the distributor planning as well. Define KPIs and ROI Metrics.
     

What you'll bring...
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field; Masters degree preferred
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience defining, developing and building marketing strategies to support business growth and ROI required
  • Experience in working in a matrix organization
  • Multicultural supervisory/leadership experience
  • Previous diverse experience in a multinational company (FMCG + Lubricants preferred)
  • English and Arabic high proficiency
  • Strategic thinking - analytics proficiency with ability to turn complex data into key insights. Goes beyond surface situation analysis to link issues and opportunities to create more effective strategies.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to build partnerships and influence others outside of span of control
  • Prior budget and financial management experience
  • Communication - Ability to work cross-culturally as cross-functionally. Constructs information flow and recommendations with clear rationale, understanding and enrollment by broad internal and external audiences. Can develop compelling and persuasive materials, and address potential counterarguments. Media - understanding and experience with digital and traditional media, planning and optimization at local levels. Promotion development and execution - understands business situation and applies appropriate tactics, timing and lead-times to capture business opportunity.
  • Please note, this is not your standard 9-5 role. There will be a lot (~50%) travel involved!
