- Define and communicate the regulatory requirements and expectations that the Bank must meet through its policies, procedures, and systems.
- Collaborate with the business to develop and implement appropriate policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, expectations, and industry best practices.
- Provide both formal and informal guidance and advice on Compliance issues to relevant business units as needed.
- Ensure that all relevant staff receive training on the Bank's policies and procedures.
- Conduct periodic, risk-based Compliance Monitoring to verify adherence to the Bank’s policies and procedures, and escalate significant non-compliance issues to management.
- Oversee key Compliance systems, including Customer Screening, Transaction Screening, and AML Monitoring.
- Manage the investigation of alerts generated by Compliance systems, escalate findings to management, and make necessary disclosures to relevant authorities.
- Respond promptly to regulatory requests for information or cooperation, including details on customers, transactions, policies, procedures, training, and compliance monitoring
- Address business triggers raised by the Compliance unit in a timely manner and ensure prompt escalations from the Business end.
- Prepare and deliver regular management information (MIS) reports and dashboards to senior management within the stipulated timeframe.
- Minimum 3 years experience in same role or related role
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a compliance role within the banking or financial services sector.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Demonstrate advanced skills in MS Office, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
