Description:
We are seeking a talented Naval Architect to join our team in the oil and gas industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing naval analysis expertise for installation operations, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of marine-based projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct mooring analysis to assess the stability and safety of vessels and floating structures during installation operations.
2. Perform engineered lifting and upending analysis to determine the optimal lifting and installation procedures for offshore structures and equipment.
3. Execute transportation analysis to evaluate the feasibility and logistics of moving large structures and components via marine vessels.
4. Conduct float-over analysis to assess the feasibility and stability of transferring topside modules onto offshore platforms.
5. Perform hydrodynamic database calculations to predict the behavior of vessels and structures under various environmental conditions.
6. Collaborate with engineering, project management, and operations teams to develop detailed installation plans and procedures.
7. Provide technical expertise and guidance during project planning, execution, and post-installation phases.
8. Conduct risk assessments and mitigation strategies to ensure the safety and integrity of marine-based operations.
9. Stay informed about industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices related to naval architecture and offshore installation operations.
10. Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and site visits as required to support project objectives.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Proven experience in naval analysis for installation operations within the oil and gas industry, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
3. Proficiency in industry-standard analysis software such as MOSES, OrcaFlex, Gmoor, Mathcad - this is a MUST
4. Strong understanding of marine engineering principles, including hydrodynamics, structural mechanics, and stability analysis.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide innovative solutions.
6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
7. Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in analysis and design work.
8. Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations governing offshore installations (e.g., ABS, DNV, API).
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to project execution and delivery.
