Description:
We are in search of a dedicated and experienced Net Zero and Decarbonization Advisor to lead our initiatives in carbon reduction and sustainability. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing expert guidance, developing strategies, and implementing solutions to achieve net zero and decarbonization goals. The Net Zero and Decarbonization Advisor will also collaborate with clients, manage projects, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
Role Description
1. Strategy Development:
- Lead the development and implementation of net zero and decarbonization strategies for clients, considering energy efficiency, renewable energy, and carbon offsetting.
- Provide expert guidance on best practices, technologies, and policies to achieve carbon reduction targets.
2. Client Engagement:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their sustainability objectives and develop tailored net zero and decarbonization roadmaps.
- Provide technical support and expertise to clients in implementing sustainable practices and achieving their environmental goals.
3. Project Management:
- Oversee and manage sustainability certification, zero and decarbonization projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to align resources and drive successful project execution.
4. Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards in all sustainability certifications, net zero and decarbonization projects.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential challenges in project delivery.
5. Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze carbon emissions data, energy consumption, and environmental impact to assess the effectiveness of net zero and decarbonization initiatives.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate project progress and outcomes to clients and stakeholders.
6. Research and Innovation:
- Stay informed about the latest trends, technologies, and regulations in Net Zero and Decarbonization as well as the green buildings certifications.
- Integrate innovative solutions into client projects to drive continuous improvement and carbon reduction.
7. Training and Development:
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate internal teams and clients on green buildings, net zero and decarbonization strategies, technologies, and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, report, oversee, and monitor the overall green buildings, Net Zero and Decarbonization projects, including commissioning process and documentation.
- Quality control and review of reports and team deliverables.
- Develop planning and prioritize processes to ensure that multi-disciplinary resources are well aligned to maximize delivery of projects.
- Provide technical support in all green buildings, Net Zero and Decarbonization systems to the business development for proposal requirements, estimating level of involvement timing, office and on-site engineering team.
- Provide leadership, coordination, and coaching to the team, ensuring they are trained enabling them to achieve the operational and financial metrics within their areas of responsibility and succeed in their roles.
- Resolving all disputes brought to attention which cannot be resolved by the assigned Sustainability Specialist;
- Attends and participate in all key projects meetings and key sites audits.
- Reviews status reports, provide input and addresses issues as appropriate.
- Ensure all Sustainability projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with the company control processes for the overall sustainability certification projects which may include schedules developments, cost estimates and risk analysis.
- Evaluate successes and challenges, and record lessons learned and share it with subordinates for future projects.
- Develop sustainability procedures, reports, systems and strategies;
- Prepare and deliver training materials to project team as well as co-workers in order to increase their technical knowledge on sustainable strategies and certifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Sustainability Consultant, Net Zero Advisor, or in a similar role, demonstrating successful project management and client engagement.
- Experience in leading and implementing net zero and decarbonization strategies.
- Certifications in sustainability frameworks such as LEED AP, Estidama PQP, and other relevant certifications (WELL, Mostadam, Breeam, etc…) are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations, sustainability frameworks, and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
