Planning Engineer

Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Planning Engineer with specific experience in solar projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and scheduling all project activities to ensure timely completion and effective resource utilization. This role requires a strong understanding of solar energy projects, excellent project management skills, and scheduling exposure in Primavera.

Responsibilities

· Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to define project scope and objectives.

· Use project management software to monitor and track project progress.

· Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including milestones and deliverables for solar energy projects.

· Collaborate with the project management team to develop detailed project execution plans.

· Conduct schedule analysis and identify critical path activities.

· Develop and maintain resource-loaded schedules to ensure optimal resource allocation.

· Review and analyze project progress and provide regular reports to project stakeholders.

· Prepare and present regular progress reports to management and stakeholders.

· Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, progress reports, and change orders.

· Collaborate with the site construction team to identify and mitigate schedule risks.

· Assist the project management team in developing recovery plans for schedule delays.

· Provide technical support to the project management team on all planning-related matters.

· Facilitate effective communication among project team members and stakeholders.

· Expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.

· Review progress reports submitted by the EPC contractor.

· Monitor and analyze project effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative tools.

· Recommend and implement modifications to improve effectiveness and attain project milestones.

· Oversee schedules and risk management plans and provide serious deviation warnings hindering project results.

· Identify changes in work scope in the project plan.

· Prepare short- and long-term resource allocation plans based on input from all key players and team members.

· Evaluate and analyze the team's risks and issues compromising project results and develop plans to mitigate them.

· Support in selecting the most appropriate techniques and logical sequence of activities to complete the project scope.

· Set up alerts for all important contractual and milestone dates.

Experience & Skills Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 6+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling,
• with at least 3 years focused on solar energy projects.
• Proven experience using project management software such as Primavera P6.
• Experience in utility-scale PV project planning is a must.
• Experience with HV substation planning is an advantage.
• Preferably UAE or Gulf experience.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
