Kutubna Cultural Center is a literary hub in Dubai, dedicated to encouraging the development of talent in the region and making creative and scholarly pursuits accessible. We celebrate the accomplishments of Khaleeji authors, poets, and scholars, and strive to amplify the voices of writers, poets, thinkers, and researchers from across the Arab, Middle Eastern, and North African regions.

Role Description

This is a contract six-month role for a playwright in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for co-writing one play, collaborating with dramaturgs and other creative professionals, and supporting the production of the plays as needed. This is an on-site role that requires the ability to work collaboratively with a team of creative professionals to deliver a high-quality production.

Qualifications

• Strong playwriting and scriptwriting skills
• Experience in developing plays from concept to production
• The ability to collaborate with other creative professionals, including directors, designers, and actors
• Ability to work within tight deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and/or English
• Relevant degree or diploma in playwriting, drama, creative writing, or a related field
• Demonstrated passion for the arts and culture, and contributing to the growth of the Khaleeji, Arab, Middle Eastern, and North African literary and cultural scene
