Description:
Dr. Mahmood Hussain Advocates and Legal Consultancy LLC (MHLF) was founded in September 2012 by Dr. Mahmoud Hussein. Since then, the firm has grown to be one of UAE’s leading legal service providers, an active boutique firm with international exposure and expertise that focuses on select clients and quality mandates.
The successful candidate will have more than 8 years of experience as a Senior Arbitrator. The candidate should also have experience working in the UAE and familiarity with their laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Handling complex high-value disputes, in both domestic, international and any ad hoc arbitration matters
- Devising strategies for the cases based on the generic case summaries from the clients
- Oral Advocacy; Pleading your case before the arbitrators and cross-examining the witnesses
- Corresponding with arbitrators as well as the institute when required
- Conducting professional client meetings and consultations
- Drafting of legal opinions based on UAE Law
- Drafting expert witness statements and opinions assistance which would be submitted before various judicial authorities, including some under laws of England and Wales
DIFC Courts
- Managing and supervising DIFC court matters
- Briefing and assisting barristers as and when required by the client
Skills
- Thorough procedural and legal knowledge
- Construction/ dispute experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage caseloads
- Good attention to detail to be able to analyse case files and data
- Excellent time management
Experience
- More than 8 years of experience as an arbitrator with experience in managing a team
- Common law qualified lawyer with UAE Experience
- Registration with DIFC Courts is preferred but not essential
