Description:
The Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services for construction and development projects. The role ensures cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality and compliance with project requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term vendor relationships.
- Source materials, equipment, and services required for construction and development projects.
- Review technical specifications and ensure materials comply with project requirements.
- Analyze procurement costs and implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality.
- Manage the procurement process, including issuing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and coordinating with suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and contractual agreements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to meet procurement needs and timelines.
- Monitor market trends, material availability, and price fluctuations to optimize purchasing decisions.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and documentation.
- Resolve supply chain issues, delivery delays, and quality concerns efficiently.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in procurement within the construction or real estate development industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and suppliers in the UAE market.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet project deadlines.
- Familiarity with UAE procurement regulations and contract management.
