Key Responsibilities:
- Sourcing and Purchasing:
- Issue requests for quotations (RFQs), review bids, and select suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery time.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and prices with vendors.
- Purchase goods and services in line with company needs and budget constraints.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure continuous supply of high-quality goods and services.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or cost.
- Conduct regular supplier evaluations and audits.
- Monitor stock levels and order supplies to maintain inventory levels.
- Contract Management:
- Ensure that procurement activities are completed within budget and make recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.
- Assist in preparing budgets for procurement needs and ensure adherence to these budgets.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, contracts, and communication with vendors.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, spending, and savings.
- Ensure that all procurement activities are conducted in accordance with the organization's procurement policies, industry standards, and legal regulations.
- Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, including potential delays or quality issues.
- Work closely with internal departments (e.g., finance, operations, and production) to understand their needs and fulfil procurement requirements.
- Communicate effectively with various stakeholders to ensure smooth procurement operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, typically 2-5 years.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of procurement and contract management software and tools.
- Familiarity with legal aspects of procurement and supply chain management.
