Description:
As a Procurement Specialist at Vertex Trading you will be responsible for managing the procurement process locally. Your primary objective will be to secure cost-effective and high-quality products while ensuring timely delivery and maintaining strong vendor relationships. This role will require a combination of analytical skills, negotiation prowess, and a deep understanding of market trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a database of suppliers/vendors and actively seek out new ones.
- Source, negotiate and purchase products from both local vendors.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality standards, delivery time and best prices and ensure all the criteria are met according to the organizational requirements and expectations.
- Coordinate logistics with suppliers and shipping companies.
- Monitor the production of promotional materials and advertising merchandise (locally) in accordance with the client detail and specifications.
- Provide effective costing and quotation to Sales Team.
- Create and generate Purchase orders.
- Coordinate with finance department for the payment and provide necessary documents.
- Coordinate with supplier for the collection of samples and confirmed order.
- Coordinate with supplier and forwarder to ensure that shipment will be shipped and received on time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a procurement specialist within the corporate gifts industry.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of cost savings.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of industry trends and regulations.
