Description:
As a Production Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the production process. Your role will focus on coordinating production operations, managing resources, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. This position requires a proactive individual who can work cross-functionally to meet production goals and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Operations:
- Coordinate production operations based on material, labour, and equipment availability.
- Recommend solutions to reduce production costs and improve processes and product quality.
- Adjust production schedules to meet deadlines and communicate changes to relevant departments.
- Compile and submit status and performance reports to management promptly.
- Provide delivery commitments and develop daily production schedules.
- Maintain data quality and integrity, ensuring production schedule stability.
- Review and recommend changes to production plans as necessary.
- Timely reporting of key metrics.
Resource Planning:
- Develop run strategies for assigned products to optimize service, inventory, and efficiency.
- Perform supply-demand analysis and highlight areas of concern for the next 12 months.
- Evaluate purchase orders to create suitable production schedules.
- Estimate material, equipment, and labor requirements for production.
- Address and resolve production issues promptly to minimize delays.
- Collaborate with Material Supply Management and maintain shopfloor employees' time logs.
QHSSE Activities:
- Ensure health and safety regulations are met and managed effectively.
- Manage risk registers and promote a strong safety mentality in all projects and services.
- Organize relevant training sessions and enforce company policies.
- Exercise authority to stop work if unsafe conditions are observed, ensuring compliance with OH&S regulations to achieve a ZERO HARM working environment.
- Report observations and interventions to the HSE Manager or Management.
Qualifications:
Academic:
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree.
- Formal Project Management qualification (advantageous).
Skills:
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems and production planning.
- Working knowledge of facilities, machines, and equipment.
- Ability to track and report on activities effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
- Staff management, resource planning, technical leadership, budget management, safety management, attention to detail, conceptual skills, supply management, facilities management systems, and project management.
