Public Health Officer

The ideal candidate will play a critical role in implementing and managing public health initiatives designed to improve the well-being of communities.

 

The Public Health Officer will be responsible for coordinating healthcare services, developing and implementing community health programs, and assessing the effectiveness of interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Community Health Programs: Develop and lead community health programs focused on accessible healthcare services, including mobile clinics and health education programs to raise awareness about disease prevention, mental health, nutrition, and environmental health.
  • Data Collection and Health Monitoring: Utilize screening tools, lab records and epidemiological research to identify health risks and improve community health assessment. Monitor data to evaluate health trends, identify at-risk populations and design preventive strategies.
  • Behavioral and Preventive Health Initiatives: Develop and implement programs aimed at modifying behavioral risk factors that contribute to chronic diseases. Lead prevention initiatives targeting workplace safety, infectious disease control and environmental health risks.
  • Health Reporting and Communication: Prepare comprehensive health reports and deliver information about potential health risks to the public and healthcare professionals. Provide mental health awareness and resources to promote positive mental health.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Coordinate with social service organizations, healthcare institutions and government authorities to enhance community health outcomes through effective collaborative partnerships.
  • Innovative Health Solutions: Promote technology and innovation in public health to expand access to care and improve workplace wellness programs. Collaborate on the development and deployment of creative healthcare solutions to meet the evolving needs of the community.
  • Support Academic Initiatives: Assist in the development of the Academic Division of the Pakistan Association Dubai, including managing medical education events, coordinating with speakers and sponsors, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Volunteer Coordination: Train and coordinate volunteers to support public health initiatives. Manage volunteers for health awareness campaigns and community outreach programs to ensure smooth execution of public health activities.
  • Health Awareness Programs for Educational Institutions: Develop and deliver health awareness programs tailored to schools and universities, focusing on preventive health, mental health and wellness.
  • Do Fit Gap Analysis for various projects.
  • Data Analysis, Research and Development.
  • Coordination and collaboration with entities outside PAD.
  • Support and Execution of PMC Academia/Campus and any other program.
  • Exploring and applying sponsorship opportunities.
  • Reporting for various stakeholders.

 

Qualifications:

• Education: MSc in Public Health, or a related postgraduate science degree.

• Experience: 3 to 4 years of work experience in public health or a similar role within a healthcare institution (e.g., hospital or health authority). Experience in developing, implementing, or coordinating public health programs and events is preferred. Skills and Competencies: • Proven experience in community health assessment and public health data analysis.

• Strong understanding of health education and behavioral health interventions.

• Excellent communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, public health authorities and community members.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively.

• Strong leadership and organizational skills, with experience in managing volunteer teams.

• Knowledge of emergency preparedness protocols and public health innovations.

• Familiarity with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their relevance to public health programs and interventions.
