Job Description:
As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for developing business relationships with general contractors, engineers, architects, owner’s representatives, and property owners in the construction industry. Your role will involve strategic planning, sales pipeline management, and collaboration with the operations team to achieve revenue objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new business accounts and expand existing customer relationships.
- Utilize strategic account planning and sales pipeline management tools.
- Follow a proven sales process from prospecting to closing for construction project opportunities.
- Collaborate with the operations team to implement strategic plans for business opportunities.
- Stay informed about marketplace issues, industry trends, and competitive information.
- Participate in industry and community organizations as a brand ambassador.
- Review and approve information for project prequalification.
- Liaise with the Proposal/Marketing team and Estimating as required.
- Participate in sales and marketing activities, including proposal development and contract negotiation.
- Qualify project opportunities and identify high-potential clients using 11.strategic account management.
- Provide reports and updates to senior management.
- Develop and maintain customer-focused relationships with key stakeholders.
- Support relationship development with developers, architects, and market influencers.
- Prepare sales engineering reports and submit orders by coordinating with technical support staff.
- Develop negotiating strategies and positions, closing new business deals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent experience.
- Ten years or more of related work experience in the construction industry.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organization, leadership, negotiation, and delegation skills.
- Proven ability to develop lasting, positive customer relationships.

The role involves overall responsibility for planning, developing, and carrying out programs essential to the operation of the company. You will be accountable for the overall results of the business unit or company.
