Description:
Prepare cost accounting records such as subcontracting, field service, sales costs, and research and development costs. Computes project costs, compares actual costs to estimates and analyse variances.
Responsibilities
- Ensure proper project control governance is adhered to on projects.
- Manage the preparation of cost accounting records; design and implement cost control procedures.
- Assists with project cost controlling and reporting.
- Supports financial close activities related to Project development lifecycle and financial reporting in Properties BU and collaborating with Finance SSC in due course.
- Develop, install, and monitor the cost control systems.
- Interpret and disseminate the cost accounting information to management; may participate in the most complex cost accounting projects.
- Manage the activities related to development and organisation of the BU costs system; involving analysis of the real cost of the products and their respective contribution margins.
Knowledge and Skill
- Financial reporting and accounting standards (IFRS)
- Financial controls and governance
- End to end understanding of Project development lifecycle and its impact on Finance processes OTC, ITP, RTR, Treasury
- Critical thinking and strategy development skills
- Strong sense of ownership and seeing task completion through the end
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work cross functionally and establish good working relationships with relevant stakeholders (i.e. Commercial / Development team etc.)
Experience and Qualification
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree i.e. Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting or similar.
- Relevant professional qualification i.e. Chartered Accountant (CPA, ACCA, CA India, CA Pakistan and similar), CIMA/CMA, CFA
- 4-7 years of total work experience
- Experience in the Middle East
