Cornerstone Recruitment MENA is managing an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join a reputable non-profit organization in the medical field, based in Dubai. This position plays a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization's mission through effective financial management.
As the Senior Accountant, you will oversee key financial processes, including budgeting, reporting, and audits, ensuring financial integrity and efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in accounting, preferably within non-profit or medical sectors, and demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Develop and monitor budgets, providing financial insights to aid decision-making.
Compliance & Audit:
- Ensure compliance with UAE financial regulations and tax requirements, including VAT filings.
- Coordinate and facilitate external and internal audits, addressing findings and implementing recommendations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support financial transparency and accountability.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Oversee invoicing, payment processing, and accounts reconciliation.
- Monitor receivables, ensuring timely collections and efficient cash flow management.
Financial Systems & Process Improvement:
- Manage and optimize accounting systems, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, implementing best practices in financial management.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
- Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years of accounting experience, with prior experience in the non-profit or healthcare/medical sector preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
- Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of UAE financial regulations, VAT, and audit processes.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
