Description:
ES Training is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accounting Manager. This role is pivotal in developing and implementing robust accounting systems with a strong emphasis on internal controls, GAAP compliance, and risk management. You will be a key player in our finance team, collaborating closely with senior leadership and various departments to drive financial excellence and ensure seamless integration of finance operations with other organizational functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all finance, accounting, and reporting activities ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure robust internal controls and safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, program budgets, and actual expenditures.
- Coordinate all audit activities and ensure flawless audit executions.
- Analyze financial data consistently and present accurate financial reports; communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to senior leadership.
- Assist in the annual budgeting and planning process; review all financial plans and compare them to actual results to identify variances.
- Support the Finance Manger in engaging the board’s audit and finance committees on trends and issues in financial models.
- Oversee financial, project/programme, and grants accounting; ensure expenditures align with grant and programme budgets; collate financial reporting materials for grants.
- Manage organizational cash flow forecasting and collaborate with Programme Heads to assess financial efficacy and establish finance systems.
- Track the performance of invested assets, ensuring alignment with policies and investment guidelines.
- Lead the finance team by leveraging strengths, providing clear roles and responsibilities, and developing training programs to maximize productivity.
- Promote and maintain a positive and supportive work environment, enhancing internal communications across all organizational levels.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
- Proven experience in a senior accounting or financial management role.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a focus on developing team capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of ERP systems is an advantage.
