Job Summary:
The Senior Logistics Specialist plays a critical role in the strategic procurement and management of logistics services and vendors. This position is responsible for developing and executing category strategies, optimizing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective and efficient logistics operations. The person collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and drive supply chain excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Category Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement category strategies for logistics services, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics category.
2. Supplier Management:
- Evaluate, select, and manage logistics suppliers and carriers.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and service level agreements to achieve cost savings and performance improvements.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues promptly.
3. Cost Optimization:
- Analyze logistics costs and develop strategies to optimize expenses.
- Collaborate with finance and operations teams to create and manage budgets.
4. Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with logistics category operations.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including operations, procurement, and demand planning teams, to align logistics strategies with business goals.
- Lead cross-functional teams in logistics projects and initiatives.
6. Market Analysis:
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies.

7. Supplier Diversity and Sustainability:

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proven experience in logistics procurement, category management, or supply chain management.
