Service And Sales Engineer

 

Description:


As a Service and Sales Engineer, you'll report to the Aftermarket Sales Manager and play a pivotal role in installing, commissioning, troubleshooting systems and components like UHT, pasteurisers, membrane systems, homogenizers, separators, pumps, valves, mixers and automation in dairy, food and pharma industries. You'll collaborate across departments, engage with customers, conduct field visits and audits, and contribute to achieving sales targets.

Responsibilities

About Your Responsibilities

Process and Mechanical:
 

  • Apply knowledge of dairy/food processing plant operations, including sanitary equipment.
  • Engage with customers to understand processes, control, and optimize them.
  • Read and Interpret P&I Diagrams.
  • Collaborate on site execution with subcontractors to meet customer agreements.
  • Develop expertise in component and machine maintenance.
  • Perform service tasks as assigned by the Aftermarket Sales Manager.
  • Identify spare parts sales opportunities and provide quotations.
  • Prepare job reports and required forms.
  • Ensure strict safety adherence.
  • Participate in training programs directed by the Aftermarket Sales Manager.
  • Collaborate with Process Technology and Project Delivery for AMC solutions and support.
  • Coordinate with engineering and supply chain for job costing.
  • Identify upgrade and automation opportunities.
  • Communicate potential risks during costing and present proposals to customers.
     

Aftermarket Sales
 

  • Prepare quotes for spare parts and products.
  • Select the correct product based on specifications.
  • Prepare and submit techno-commercial offers to customers.
  • Manage orders with SPX Flow factories and suppliers.
  • Maintain job numbers in SAP.
  • Follow up on pending orders with suppliers.
  • Prepare end user certificates for third-party supplied items.
  • Draft invoices for completed orders and forward to finance.
  • Monthly evaluation of open orders in SAP.
  • Support the Aftermarket Sales Manager in forecasting and budgeting.
  • Update the opportunities database.
     

Service Execution
 

  • Supervise service execution, including breakdowns and maintenance.
  • Assist in preparing quotations. Obtain hardware quotations for Aftermarket Sales.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects. Develop execution plans and functional analyses.
  • Define software and electrical/automation solutions.
  • Design and present software and hardware requirements.
  • Plan, develop, and commission control systems on-site.
  • Conduct training for engineers and operators.
  • Keep the Aftermarket Sales updated on service job status.
     

Automation Essentials

What Do You Need
 

  • Possess strong IT software and hardware experience.
  • Familiarity with SPX Flow Integrator and Paracode Language is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Siemens Hardware and Software, including TIA Portal, S7 300/400 PLCs, various Operating Panels.
  • Familiarity with industrial bus systems such as ProfiNet, Profibus, Ethernet, ASI bus.
  • Good knowledge of electrical installation and troubleshooting, including relay-based panels, various I/O modules, cabling, termination systems, variable speed drives, compact controllers.
  • Proficiency in Aveva Software Solutions, including Archestra, Intouch, Incontrol.
  • Experience in SCADA programming with Siemens and Aveva products.
  • Knowledge of other PLC Hardware and Software, such as Allen Bradley, Omron, Mitsubishi, is an advantage.
     

Other Requirements
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related discipline.
  • 5-10 years of related industry experience in dairy, beverages, food, pharmaceutical plants.
  • Preferably experienced in a maintenance or engineering department/field service.
  • Fluent communication skills in English (Arabic is an added advantage).
  • Valid Driving License converted for use in the Middle East.
  • Knowledge of various ERP packages is desirable.
  • Professional and composed communication, even under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to mobilize at short notice and travel extensively within the UAE and neighboring countries.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
