Description:
As Alignment Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the successful execution on-site of alignment measurements, corrections and adjustments of propulsion components, attend daily repair-meetings with customer, shipyard, contractors etc. Your role will involve extensive travel worldwide.
As Alignment Service Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting of rotating machinery.
- Measurement and alignment, primarily on propulsion systems on ships
- Analysis of measurement data.
- Participation in the commissioning of repaired installations globally.
- Technical troubleshooting in cooperation with colleagues and external clients.
- Travel activity must be expected (approx. 180 days/year) domestically and abroad.
- Perform precise alignment measurements for propulsion vessel systems on-site.
- Supervise machining and repair processes to ensure adherence to technical specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with on-site teams, providing technical guidance and support as needed.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with the head office, ensuring all relevant information is accurately reported and documented.
- Prepare detailed reports on alignment measurements, repair processes, and outcomes.
- Provide technical advice and recommendations to clients and internal teams.
- Ensure & promote compliance with all safety and environmental regulations during on-site operations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.
To be successful in this role we expect you to have:
- Education as a Marine Engineer, Mechanical or relevant technical degree and at least 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Relevant practical experience will be an advantage, but not a must.
- Proficiency in IT, including the Microsoft Office suite.
- Flexible and persistent approach to the tasks performed in an inter-organizational environment.
- Commercial flair and business understanding.
