Description:
Seed Labs is hiring a Software Engineering Manager in UAE.
What you will do:
- Join engineering leadership in working with cross-functional leads (Product, Design, BD, Sales) to understand the organization’s goals and set technical vision and roadmap.
- Rally the engineering team around the future vision and coordinate execution toward it.
- Help architect challenging distributed systems problems around scalability, reliability, high availability for the core trading API, web sockets, datastore services, and new initiatives.
- Ensure your team members are performing at their peak, are growing, and are advancing in their careers.
- Contribute to the interview process and design, raise the bar, and help build and retain a world-class engineering team.
- Be a champion of the engineering culture at Seed Labs by coaching and mentoring engineers and other managers, participating in architectural reviews, and spearheading initiatives for higher developer productivity and team efficiency.
- As one of the early managers, you’re setting the culture not just for a team but for Seed Labs as a whole.
What you will bring:
- 7+ years of software engineering experience and at least 3 years of experience as a software engineering manager, technical lead manager or similar
- Experience working with many of the following technologies in our stack with no hesitancy to dive in and contribute to challenges as needed: TypeScript, GoLang, Python, Solidity, Rust, data-processing systems (e.g. Kafka, Lambda architecture, ELK), storage solutions (DynamoDB, Postgres, Redis, Zookeeper), SQL database performance tuning, VMs and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), infrastructure (AWS, Terraform, Terragrunt)
- Experience scaling up teams/organizations with a strong shared vision to build a world-class engineering team and nothing less.
- Experience hiring competitive candidates and the ability to craft and convey compelling visions of the future.
- A voracious and intrinsic desire for continuous learning and an equally strong ability for sharing that information clearly and concisely with others.
- You view changes as an opportunity to add structure and order when necessary.
- You believe data is the most powerful tool for informed decision-making.
- You thrive in ambiguity; complex and fuzzy requirements are more common than clearly defined expectations.
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- You understand the importance of written, transparent communication as a default way to share not only technical but also strategic proposals and decisions.
