Steel Production Engineer

 

Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Steel Production Engineer to lead our steel manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel production, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to ensuring the highest quality output while maintaining cost-efficiency and safety standards.

 

Responsibilities:

Production Planning and Scheduling:

Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demands while optimizing inventory levels.

Create production schedules, allocate resources efficiently, and monitor production progress to meet targets.

Adapt production schedules as needed in response to changes in demand or unforeseen issues.

Ensure that steel products meet stringent quality standards and specifications through regular quality checks.

Implement quality control measures to reduce defects and rework, enhancing overall product quality.

Collaborate with the quality control team to address and resolve quality issues.

Lead and manage a team of production supervisors and workers, providing guidance, coaching, and support.

Set clear performance expectations, objectives, and provide ongoing feedback to the production team.

Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement in steel production processes.

Develop and manage the production budget, identifying opportunities to reduce operational costs.

Implement cost-effective production strategies, including lean manufacturing principles, to optimize resource utilization and reduce waste.

Oversee the maintenance and repair of steel production machinery and equipment.

Schedule and coordinate routine maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure the reliability of steel manufacturing equipment.

Reporting and Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of steel production activities, including production reports, inventory, and performance metrics.

Generate regular reports for senior management on steel production status, performance, and issues.

 

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., metallurgy, engineering, manufacturing) or equivalent experience.

Proven experience in steel production management, with GCC experience in a supervisory or management role.

In-depth knowledge of steel production processes, metallurgy, and steel quality control.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a steel manufacturing environment.

Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.

Proficiency in using production and inventory management software specific to the steel industry.

Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations related to steel production and compliance.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
