Steel Site Engineer

Description:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Steel Site Engineer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel construction and possess in-depth knowledge of steel structures, welding techniques, and quality control. The Steel Site Engineer will play a crucial role in overseeing the construction of steel structures on-site, ensuring compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and project specifications.

Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Preparation:

Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to understand the scope and requirements of the steel construction project.

Collaborate with project managers and other team members to develop a construction schedule and plan for steel work

Steel Structure Construction:

Supervise and manage the installation and assembly of steel structures, including beams, columns, and other components, ensuring they meet design and safety standards.

Oversee welding processes, bolted connections, and other methods used in steel structure construction.

Quality Control and Inspection:

Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that steel structures are constructed to specifications and meet safety standards.

Conduct regular inspections and testing of materials and workmanship to identify and rectify defects or deviations.

Safety Compliance:

Maintain a strong focus on safety, enforce safety protocols, and promote a culture of safety among site workers.

Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard identification to prevent accidents and injuries.

Team Leadership and Coordination:

Lead a team of steelworkers and laborers, providing guidance, direction, and support.

Coordinate and schedule work tasks to ensure efficient progress and meet project deadlines.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience in steel construction, with a GCC experience in a site engineering role.

Strong knowledge of steel construction techniques, welding processes, and steelwork design.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints and specifications.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in construction.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic construction site environment.
