Experience in Seafood or Food Industry:
Ideally, the candidate should have prior experience working in the seafood or food processing industry. Familiarity with seafood products, their handling, and storage requirements is crucial.
Management Skills:
- The storekeeper should be proficient in inventory management, including tracking, organizing, and maintaining inventory levels. They should be able to use inventory management software if required.
Knowledge of Storage and Preservation:
- A good understanding of seafood storage methods, temperature control, and preservation techniques is essential to maintain product quality and safety.
Attention to Detail:
- The storekeeper must have a keen eye for detail to ensure that seafood products are stored properly, labeled accurately, and inspected for quality regularly.
Organizational Skills:
- Effective organization is vital in managing seafood inventory. The storekeeper should be able to arrange products in a way that minimizes waste and ensures the FIFO &/pr FEFO methods are followed.
Communication Skills:
- Good communication skills are important for coordinating with other departments, suppliers, and customers. He should be able to report any issues or discrepancies promptly.
Safety and Hygiene Awareness:
- Knowledge of safety and hygiene regulations in the seafood processing industry is critical to prevent contamination and maintain a safe working environment.
Physical Stamina:
- The role may involve lifting, moving, and carrying heavy seafood crates or packages, so physical stamina and fitness are important. As well as experience in operating Forklifts and stakers.
Problem-Solving Abilities:
- The storekeeper should be able to identify and address issues such as inventory shortages, product quality problems, or storage equipment malfunctions.

- Collaboration with other team members, including those in production, quality control, and procurement, is required. Being a team player is essential for a smooth workflow.
