Description:
As a Commis 1 - Continental Cook, you will be responsible for assisting the Sous Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen. Your main focus will be on preparing and cooking dishes according to the established recipes and guidelines. With your expertise, you will ensure that the food quality meets the highest standards, while also maintaining a clean and organized workstation.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Sous Chef in preparing and cooking dishes in accordance with the established recipes and guidelines
- Organize and coordinate the workstation, ensuring that all necessary ingredients and equipment are readily available
- Maintain a high standard of food quality, ensuring that all dishes are cooked to perfection and presented beautifully
- Assist in the development and creation of new menu items in collaboration with the Sous Chef
- Monitor the stock levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to the Sous Chef
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and clean working environment
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and timely service
Requirements
- Fluent in Tagalog and English, with exceptional communication skills
- Proven experience as a Commis 1 - Continental Cook in a high-end establishment or luxury hotel
- Strong knowledge of Continental cuisine and cooking techniques
- Excellent knife skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Flexibility to work on a rotating shift schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Relevant culinary qualifications and certifications are preferred
