JD for UX Profile :
- to conduct user interviews, user testing, and provide recommendations based on these two activities.
- Understand the product well enough to conduct end-user research and provide usability enhancements. To achieve this understanding, engage with Product Management, Engineering leads, and UX designer.
- Conduct End User Research:
- Author a plan / approach to learn about “a day in the life of the user”
- Conduct user interviews with participants
- Author a final report outlining (among other things)
- Who was interviewed
- What their tasks were as they go about their day
- What was their thinking and or expectations as they completed their work.
- Evaluate the current design work and make suggestions based on their observations.
- Conduct Usability Testing:
- Author a test plan
- Conduct user testing with participants
- Author a final report outlining the learnings and, where necessary, communicate observations via wireframes & mockups outlining areas of change that would address issues seen in testing.
- In the end, the personnel will ensure that the product
- Can be used by both technical and non-technical users
- These users shall be able to recognize (not recall) what to do in their tasks
- The overall experience is smooth and unobtrusive.
Below are usual the roles & responsibilities of a User Researcher:
- Spearheading the planning and conducting of research at every stage of the product’s lifecycle.
- Driving Research, User Interviews, Ethnographic research & surveys, detailed analysis.
- Leads Research & Test Activities (protocol, prototype, reports).
- Lead customer interviews and observation sessions.
- Test design prototypes.
- Coordinate and execute user research plans (including recruitment, scheduling, compensation, and technical prep.
- Compile and maintain documentation and recordings.
- Coordinate internal research communications.
