Vehicle Inspection Technician

 

Description:

We are seeking a highly energetic and passionate Vehicle Inspection Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of car mechanics, including the ability to identify common issues and deceptive practices. This role is primarily focused on conducting thorough vehicle inspections to assess the condition, safety, and quality of used cars, ensuring that only vehicles meeting our high standards are added to our inventory.

 

Responsibilities

Body Condition Inspection:

  • Use tools to check for repainting, respraying, or touch-ups.
  • Spot faded paint and color inconsistencies.
  • Identify replaced body parts and ensure they match the original.
  • Detect structural damage.
  • Make sure all doors, hoods, and trunks open and close correctly.
  • Note in Report: Document all findings, specifying any signs of repainting, body replacements, or structural damage.

Mechanical Inspection:

  • Inspect the engine, transmission, and mechanical components to detect any issues.
  • Check for oil leaks, unusual noises, engine vibrations, and jerking in the transmission.
  • Test the brakes, suspension, and steering for proper function and safety.
  • Conduct a road test, if needed, to evaluate performance in real conditions.
  • Note in Report: Record any mechanical faults, leaks, or performance issues observed during the inspection and road test.

Interior Inspection:

  • Check the interior for defects like torn upholstery, broken parts, or malfunctioning features.
  • Test all electronics and safety systems, including AC, lights, infotainment, and airbags.
  • Make sure seatbelts, warning indicators, and other safety features work correctly.
  • Note in Report: List any interior defects, malfunctioning electronics, or safety system issues.

Tire Inspection:

  • Check the condition of all tires, including tread depth, wear patterns, and visible damage.
  • Inspect for uneven wear and verify the manufacturing year of each tire.
  • Ensure all tires match the age and brand.
  • Confirm that the spare tire is in good condition and available.
  • Note in Report: Specify tire condition, including any mismatches in age, brand, or any visible damage.

 

Qualifications

  • Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Certification from an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) is preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience in vehicle inspections, with knowledge of body condition and mechanical, interior, and tire assessments.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and the ability to identify issues such as oil leaks, engine vibrations, and transmission problems. Experience with diagnostic tools like OBD is preferred.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to spot repainting, body part replacements, and structural damage. Skilled in documenting all findings clearly and accurately.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain inspection results and recommendations to the team and customers.
  • Customer Service: Ability to provide clients with clear and helpful explanations of inspection outcomes.
  • Independence: Comfortable working independently at various locations across the UAE, including remote areas.
  • Licensing: A valid manual driving license is required. Certification in automotive inspection or mechanics is a plus.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic and Hindi is an advantage.
